It's Greek to Me

I've seen the trailers for the new Clash of the Titans as well as billboards around the city, but I didn't realize until my Mom told me that it was in fact a remake. I went home for Easter and while we were casually drinking some wine a trailer for the movie came on and she said to me "This version won't top the one you used to watch," which I replied with "What are you talking about?" Apparently I used to watch the 1981 version all the time when I was a wee little girl. One could say I was obsessed with it, which apparently happens a lot. She told me I was terrified of Medusa, so I searched the internet looking for an image, hoping that once I saw it, some sort of recollection would hit me. But it hasn't, so maybe I'll just netflix it to jog my memory. Any way here is the image of Medusa:

TCM is currently showing their "31 Days of Oscar." Tonight I had the pleasure of viewing "Some Like it Hot" starring Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, and Marilyn Monroe. I first watched this movie when I was a little girl. I was sleeping over my cousin's house and we managed to stay up late, the movie came on and we watched it the whole way through. I remember the tv channel going to static after the movie, when television actutally went off the air and there was simply static or color blocks. I miss those days.

I love jewelry. Like most girls I have a certain aesthetic when it comes to jewelry. I'm not really attracted to plain jane stuff, I need to feel some sort of emotion when I see it, it has to convey some sort of emotion when I wear it. Jewelry transforms me.  Here are some current cravings:

Tastey Treats

I'm always jealous of people that cook delicious treats and actually present them really well. I can cook pretty well actually, but I cook and then eat. I don't really give too much thought on turning cupcakes into hamburgers. It would be neat to experiment one day, but I 'm not really sure what I would even make. Probably something unappetizing like red velvet cake in the shape of a human heart. Mmm, mmm, good.

Time Enough At Last

I'm currently reading Love is a Mix Tape by Rob Sheffield. So far it's an easy read, meaning, that anyone that has a love for music can really identify with the book. For those of us who can remember making mix tapes for every occasion in their youth this book has the ability to transport you back to those glorious days. Remember when music touched your soul, back then it seemed that you were really experiencing something through music, like you were a part of something. Nearing my 30's I still love my music, still have my old cassette tapes, but listen more to vinyl than anything else. Music still represents my moods, but somehow looking back on those mix tape days something has changed. Maybe it's through reminiscent eyes, maybe it was the times, maybe music was more pure back then.
